WILDCAT WORD

Monday Edition
From Dr. Nolan
March is a busy month. Spaghetti Bingo was a huge success! Thanks to all of you who came out and supported our 8th graders on Thursday evening.
Spotlight: The Peer Solutions Team
We continue to focus our time and attention on creating and nurturing peer and staff relationships. In the fall, some of our middle schoolers and school staff attended a Restorative Practices Peer Solutions training through Youth Transforming Justice in an effort to move to a peer-driven restorative model. Depending on the circumstances, students who violate school rules will be referred to a peer-led team (with adult support) who will listen to what happened from the referred student’s perspective, then interview the student, not only about the incident, but also about their support systems, help they may need at school, their interests, and what they perceive their strengths to be. Our Peer Solutions Leaders help create a plan for the student, involving community-based projects and restorative outcomes. Practice circles have begun for our peer leaders. Please visit https://www.ytjustice.org/ for information regarding Youth Transforming Justice.
